On the morning of May 19, SDUT held a meeting to arrange future work to normalize and institutionalize “Two Studies, One Action,” namely, “to study the CPC’s constitution and rules, to learn the “important speeches” of Xi, and become competent party members”.
School leaders present at the meeting included Lv Chuanyi, Zhang Tiezhu, Yi Yuchen, Hu Xingyu, Liu Guohua, Zhang Xiangyun, Wang Libin, Wei Xiuting, Zha Yuxi and Yi Weiming. Leaders in charge of SDUT Party buildings also attended the meeting.
Yi Yuchen, Deputy Secretary of SDUT Party Committee andSecretary of the Committee of Discipline Inspection, chaired the meeting, conveying the Party Secretary Xi’s instruction of normalizing and institutionalizing “Two Studies, One Action”.
Secretary of SDUT Party Committee Lv Chuanyi made a speech, summarizing the achievements SDUT has made since the learning of “Two Studies, One Action,” arranging future work to normalize and institutionalize “Two Studies, One Action,” and proposing concrete requirements, as seen below:
First, to be well aware of the significance of normalizing and institutionalizing “Two Studies, One Action”. It is a major incentive to comprehensively promote the strategy of “strictly running the Party,” a powerful tool to guide party members to become politically competent, and a solid guarantee to build SDUT into a nationwide high-level, teaching-research-oriented university of its own characteristics. Leaders in charge of SDUT party buildings should be politically and comprehensively aware of the significance of normalizing and institutionalizing “Two Studies, One Action”.
Second, to theoretically and practically prioritize and normalize ideological and political construction. To normalize and institutionalize “Two Studies, One Action,” party members should be persistent and determined in the long-term pursuit of political ideals, “two studies” being the basis, “one action” being the key and “changes” being the root. That is to say, they should deepen and broaden “two studies”; they should deepen and broaden “one action” through integrating the studies and the action; they should be responsible and hard-working, checking whether their actions live up to the standard of “four qualifications”; and they should deepen and broaden “changes,” digging into problems and correcting them.
Third, to be realistic about the implementation of policies, setting a good example for party members of lower ranks. Members of the Standing Party Committee should first implement the six regulations on the construction of the Standing Party Committee, setting a good example for the whole school; leaders in charge of party buildings should be ready to learn and to do as a good practitioner and role-model of “Two Studies and One Action,” leading other party members to follow them, paying close attention to basic party branches and strengthening classified guidance.
Fourth, to promote the in-depth integration between theoretical learning and school work, achieving the long-term success in terms of fulfilling responsibilities and of inspiring vigor. Party members should thoroughly implement the policy of “strictly running the Party,” strengthen the political and ideological work of Party construction, and create an enabling environment for the communist cause and SDUT development. And the quality of personnel training, the standards of scientific research and the competence of serving the society can be used to test the performance.
Those who also spoke at the meeting included Secretary of Party General Branch of School of Mechanical Engineering, Secretary of Party General Branch of School of Foreign Language Study, Member of the Office of SDUT President, head of Party Branch in the Office of Legal Affairs. They discussed the experience and measures to carry out the learning of “Two Studies, One Action” and to promote future work.
Zhang Tiezhu, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee and President of SDUT gave concluding remarks, proposing the following concrete requirements on implementing the spirit of this meeting: first, to take a firm stance on CPC and to build up consciousness of ideology and action; second, to adhere to the new normal; third, to further fulfill responsibility and emphasize practical results; fourth, to promote the scientific development of SDUT.
